Traditional Pithi Lepan

Pithi Therapy (also referred to in classical Ayurvedic context as Pithi Lepan or Prasadhana Chikitsa) is a skin-brightening, detanning and complexion enhancing therapy traditionally performed before auspicious events such as weddings, ceremonies and special occasions.

Unlike cosmetic facials or modern chemical peeling procedures — this therapy works on Sharira Lepa Chikitsa principles, using herb-based powders, medicated tailas (oils) and swedana (steam) to remove Avarana (accumulated waste material, dust, pollution film, sweat residue) from the skin surface and deeper Twak Dhatu layers.

This makes it clinically relevant not just cosmetically, but physiologically.

AYURVEDIC VIEW / HOW IT WORKS

According to Ayurveda, Pithi Lepan primarily reduces:

  • Kapha dominance present as heaviness, dullness, clogged skin channels
  • Pitta pigmentation & tanning due to sun exposure
  • Rakta Dushti (impurities at blood-skin interface)

The therapy works by:

This improves micro-circulation, lymphatic drainage, complexion clarity and cutaneous metabolism.
