Nasya Karma is one of the most important Panchkarma procedures specifically designed for disorders situated above the clavicle (Urdhvajatru vikara). In this therapy, medicated oil is instilled into the nasal passages after proper preparation of the facial region. According to Ayurveda, the nose is the direct gateway to the head (Nasa hi Shiraso Dwaram). Therefore, Nasya enables targeted access to cranial nerves, sinus ducts, olfactory channels, pituitary–hypothalamic axis and facial lymphatic drainage pathways.
When performed correctly, Nasya deeply influences Prana Vayu, improves oxygenation to brain tissues, reduces Kapha stasis in sinuses, strengthens scalp follicles and regulates neuro-endocrine balance.
